WORKSHOP 1
Project 1 Food Kiosk - Esquisse Workshop
In this workshop, students are to:
- Develop an idea of the kind of food to be served at their kiosk and an understanding of basic requirements for preparation and serving.
- Study about precedents on Kiosk design
- Produce annotations and diagrams extracted from their precedents
- Produce “Design Intention Images” based on precedents as well as their understanding of materiality, construction and their relationship to the production, trade and consumption of food.
WORKSHOP 2
Precedents Analysis & Conceptual Modelling
In this workshop, students are to:
- Study precedents on market/food court design
- Identify main conceptual ideas from their selected precedents and prepare draft annotated plans and sections.
- Produce exploratory physical models of conceptual ideas based on the selected precedents as well as their understanding of the site and program.
- Produce a massing model with A3 sized base of the site and immediate context
WORKSHOP 3
Building Construction & Passive Design Strategies Integration
In this workshop, students are to:
- Provide references and study precedents on envelope detailing and passive design strategies that could be applied to the project.
- Produce exploratory sectional sketches exploring preliminary ideas of envelope construction and detailing
- Produce draft section drawing of your building design as a base for exploring the integration of development of the building envelope with passive design environmental strategies.
- Develop a more detailed section drawing to explore detailing, materiality and relation to environment and space quality.
WORKSHOP 4
Design Communication Conventions
In this workshop, students are to:
- To produce a set of drawings; ground floor plan, one upper floor plan, one section, one elevation and the integrated sectional perspective.
